Luna Mountain, To Dusk City!

Minami didn't say a word as they came across the splitting path. She turned to look at Kaito and folded her arms, letting him know that she was letting him choose which way to go again.

*Kaito looked at all the paths and saw that out of the four there were only two left paths. He'd rub his chin then scratched his head.*

Kaito: "Lets go this way..."

*Kaito pointed towards the path that would lead to the West. He'd wait for her to walk the path first before he did. Kai was a little confused, he really wasn't good at picking paths, so he was hoping they didn't run into a Groudon again.*

Minami shrugged at his decision and began walking down the West path. It was a pretty long path but she could see someone up and ahead. Even more she could hear something as well...like a machine running. Maybe a generator of some sort?

"Who is that?"

She mumbled to herself. The person up ahead of them looked to be around their age, but he wore an all black outfit and had several red chains hanging from his pants. For some reason, she got a bad feeling from the guy up ahead.

*Kaito saw the black figure with the chains. A terrible feeling of dread came over him and he wanted to get out. This wasn't something they could tackle at the moment, they... They had to go! Kaito reached out to Minami, but didn't touch her instead he whispered to her.*

Kaito: "M-Minami, we have to leave now! There's some bad news about that guy!"

*Kaito began to back up but didn't take his eyes off of Minami until she started to leave as well. They would have to go the South path but something deep down in Kaito's heart told him to go back to that path. His heart beat quickly, the color returned to his face, and he didn't notice it but he was angry and frowning.*

The person up ahead sighed in boredom and looked around. He would only catch sight of a flash of something as it rounded a corner. He scratched his head annoyed.

"Damn, must be getting sleepy standing here all day. When is my shift over?"

He grumbled.

Repel Turn 3

Kaito and Minami would be heading South on the shorter path. They would cross an indoor bridge that crossed a gap with jagged sharp rocks beneath it and then round another corner that came to another split once more. The same directions, West or South were presented. However, the sound of another machine could be heard even louder coming from the West direction while South of them, leaning against a cavern wall right next to another West turn was a girl around their age, wearing the same clothing as the boy they had just avoided.

Minami followed Kaito up until the split in the path again. She looked for him to decide which way to go, though she felt like there would be a confrontation no matter what.

*Kaito continued onward across the bridge, however he would whisper to Minami before he passed her by.*

Kaito: "Don't pay attention to the West cave, it'll draw attention. Don't stop either, keep going south and we'll be fine."

*With that Kaito went on the bridge and would start to walk across it. He paid no mind to the western path where the loud noise was coming from nor did he pay any mind to the girl who was dressed in black. However, seeing another of them there continued to anger. Could it be that they were up to something with the generator and the loud noises? Are they the reason for the pokemon growing hostile?*

As the two took the South path and approached the girl that was leaning against the wall, she would look over towards them with a smirk. Pushing away from the wall, she slowly walked in front of their path. She was about 14 years old with deep purple hair, spiked up in a ponytail but with bangs over her face.

"Sorry brats, but to get past here you have to pay up. Release your pokemon or get the hell out of here."

Minami narrowed her eyes at the girl. She looked familiar for some reason.

"We don't want any trouble. we're just heading for Dusk City, so please leave us alone."

Minami was tense. This couldn't have been that group she had heard of in Astral City...the Dark Descendants?

*Kaito took a deep breath and tried his best to calm down. He remembered the words of his brother in situations like this and spoke out. His voice was firm and calm but if someone listened close enough, anger filled his voice as well.*

Kaito: "Yeah what the lady just said. We're just passing on by, so there really isn't a need to start something here."

The girl put a hand on her head and started laughing. After a second, she calmed down and glared at the two with a deadly smirk.

"I wasn't asking. Release your pokemon or I'll kill you and release them myself."

To emphasize her point, the girl let out the two pokemon she had with her.

Alongside her pokemon, the Dark Descendatn pulled out a chain whip.

Minami knew this would happen, but she didn't expect the girl to have such experienced pokemon. By the looks of them, they weren't trained the best, but they were strong in their own rights.

"Raze, let's go, double time!"

She released Monferno again, and it instantly looked at the Simisage as its opponent. Minami cursed at the chain whip, knowing the only way she could evenly fight against it was with her kodachi.

"Shit..."

*Kaito's eyes were hidden behind his hair. He wasn't calm any longer. He gave her a chance, now its his turn to show her that they weren't playing around. Kai gripped Shaker's pokeball and sent him out. Shaker, being able to feel the anger coming from Kaito scowled and was ready for action. It looked at the opponent trainer and pokemon.*

Kaito: "Shaker.... Screech the hell out of them..."

*Shaker puffed itself up then let out a giant Screech that echoed forth towards the trainer and pokemon in an attempt to harm the three all the like, but mainly aimed for the Audino. If the Screech were to disorient them, Kaito yelled out a command to Minami.*

Kaito: "Quickly! Have your Monferno attack while they're disoriented some bit!"

The screech would echo in the area, sending Zubat and Woobat scattering overhead. The effects of the screech would have all the pokemon in the area drop their guard and harshly lower their defenses, Monferno included. However, Audino seemed to be the one in the worse condition as it dropped to its knees and cringed in actual pain from the screeching attack. The Dark Descendant groaned and covered her ears, as did Minami, but she kept one eye open on them. Simisage seemed the least effected along with Monferno. Knowing what it had to do, it pushed through the noise and charged right at Larvitar. Monferno would be able to act as well.

Monferno, just like Simisage, was intelligent enough to know what needed to be done in contrast to the younger Larvitar and Audino. Seeing the Simisage approaching Larvitar swiftly, surprisingly matching Monferno's speed even at a lower level, Monferno used its fastest attack in its arsenal. It took a runners starting position seeming to vanish. If one looked closely they would see a blur and the embers of Monferno's tail streaking behind it as it performed a Mach Punch, hitting Simisage right in the jaw and stopping its advance. Again, with a twirl on its feet, Monferno dashed forward at the Audino as it was still cringed and performed another Mach Punch, hopefully smashing the pokemon away from the battle fainted from such a super effective attack, as well as having its defense harshly lowered. This would leave Simisage open for an attack from Larvitar.

*Kaito growled slightly and so did Shaker.*

Kaito: "Bite down onto its ear and use Screech again!"

*Shaker ran forth to the Simisage that was just punched in the jaw. It would Bite down right onto its ear and once he did, he'd puff up again and release yet another screech, this time right into its ear.*

Monferno's Mach Punch attack would prove extremely effective in this situation as Simisage was knocked down and Audino was destroyed in one hit, being knocked backwards until it hit a wall and fainted.

Simisage would experience more pain as it felt its ear painfully clamped between Larvitar's sharp teeth. However, Larvitar would need to open its mouth to use the screech, which would release Simisage. As soon as it had, it whipped its arm around, hitting Larvitar with a vine whip that left a deep gash across its torso and dealt super effective damage. Larvitar's health would plummet dangerously from the attack because of the level difference. The screech would go through, but be cut short. Simisage's defenses would be the only ones lowered this time since the sound could not provide its full effect.

"Little bastards!"

The girl shouted and unraveled her chain whip. She expertly wielded it and used it to whip Monferno in the side of the face since it was closes to her.

Audino Exp Drop: 600

Minami's eyes widened in shock and anger as Monferno was hit in the face with the metal whip. Even if it didn't do much damage since Monferno was a fire type, it pissed her off to see the action regardless. With a burst of speed only shown by Monferno a few seconds ago, Minami dashed straight for the Dark Descendant. She drew something from her pouch and threw it at her as she ran forward. It was the Kodachi handle with the small piece of broken blade still in it.

*Shaker would have been thrown back by the vine whip and would look down at its gash. Its eyes watered but it wouldn't let out a cry or anything. Instead it held on and began to puff itself up for another Screech.*

Kaito: "Damn you! Grrr! You got it a little bit, Shaker it must be rattled, one more time to allow Monferno to attack it again!"

*Shaker would Screech out once more and let loose another echoing Screech attack. While it was doing that, Kaito looked around and found a rock the size of his palm. He'd pick it up and throw it up and down in his hand for a minute.*

The Dark Descendant spun her whip about her body, deflecting the broken kodachi and then took a twirl step forward, slinging the whip around her body horizontally, trying to strike Minami with blistering blow.

Simisage would be back on its feet and cringe again as it was hit with yet another screech attack. It's defenses were so low, they could not fall any further. However, it wasn't giving up that easy. It knew it wouldn't be able to get close to Larvitar without certain pain and doom, so instead, it let loose another vine whip, copying the moves of its trainer. It took a twirl step forward, slinging the whip around its body horizantally, trying to strike Larvitar with a cleaving attack, capable of whipping the poor pokemon clean in half.

They hadn't expected the two newbie trainers to work so well together.

Minami was a close range fighter and since this girl used a whip, she was most likely a mid-range to long-range fighter. This meant Minami would know what to do, and had already predicted the whip attack. She quickly slid to her knees, bending her back as she slid under the whip. As she was sliding past the Dark Descendant, she quickly pulled out the other part of the broken blade, once more cutting her hand on the sharp metal, but spun on her knees, rising to one foot to stop her slide and shoved the blade deep into the older girls side. She pulled the blade out, dripping with blood and dodged to the side.

"Go Raze!"

Minami called and the pokemon took the cue to use its Mach Punch speed again to blur forward. It appeared in the way of the vine whip from Simisage, doing the same knee slide move as its trainer. However, as it went under the whip, it grabbed it within one of its hands and spun to its feet. Monferno used the spinning momentum to pull Simisage forward with its own vine and then delivered a powerful punch right to its face. Without letting go, it did a backflip kick, sending Simisage over its head and headed straight for Shaker and Kaito.

*Kaito seeing the Simisage flying at him and Shaker had to finish this. With all the things that have happened. With those people dressed in black killing trainers and harming pokemon, Kaito took it upon himself to say these words to Shaker.*

Kaito: "Crush him..."

*Shaker open its massive jaw and turned to the side. When Simisage came flying on by, Shaker would deliver a massive bite down onto its arms. After biting down onto the Simisage, it would throw it down to the ground, jump up, and stomp on its body. Either dealing some massive damage or killing it.*

The combined attacks of Monferno and Larvitar did the Simisage in, and the jump on it was just overkill. The pokemon was knocked out cold, on the brink of death but it would live.

The Dark Descendant was shocked at the turn of events and stumbled backwards, holding her side as it bled. Minami had hit an artery and the girl was panicking, having dropped her whip. Tears streamed down her face as she realized she was losing a lot of blood and her fate was sealed.

"It's not fair..."

She cried as her back hit a cavern wall and she slid to the ground, still holding her wound. A stream of blood was on the cavern wall behind her and it slowly began to pool around her.

"Why...I couldn't have a pokedex...I couldn't have my own first pokemon..."

She cried harder, tears making small echoes in the pooling blood around her.

"I just wanted...I just wanted to have a normal adventure too...what makes you so special huh? Why do you deserve a pokedex and I don't..."

She coughed as her vision became blurry. It would be hard to tell if she was even talking to Minami and Kaito or not. Her sobs slowly began to die down as she obviously had lost too much blood now.

"...I'm sorry...mommy."

Her last words were a whisper as she shut her eyes for good...

Dark Descendant Defeated!

Minami's eyes widened at the girls dying words and she dropped her bloody kodachi in shock.

"It's...it's true..."

Minami suddenly felt the weight of not only the girls life, but the Aron she killed, on her shoulders as she dropped to her knees, tears slowly falling from her own eyes. This wasn't the first time she had killed, but it was the first time she had done so without any remorse at first. It never got easier and she realized just how foolish she had been to be taking life and death so casually up until now. Monferno frowned and quickly ran over to its trainer, wiping away her tears. Minami whimpered and threw her arms around Monferno.

*Kaito went over to Shaker gently pet him. Shaker was in some serious pain and needed medical attention. He'd return him to his ball and went over to Minami. He'd kneel down next to her, but didn't touch her. In a calm voice he spoke out her name.*

Kaito: "Minami, don't cry.... I know I shouldn't say that right now, but you have something you must do. You are doing great so far. Don't cry now. Cry when everything is over and you've completed your goals..."

*Kaito went over to the body of the Dark Descendant. He looked her over and saw the sadness on her face. It made Kaito even angrier that she was sad after all the things she had done to other trainers and people. He spoke again not out of anger, but out of respect.*

Kaito: "Want to know whats so special about us? We didn't give in like how you did. We decided to go on our own adventures with our own pokemon. Regardless of a pokedex or not. The pokedex does not make who you are. What makes you is your skill as a trainer and as a person. Life isn't fair, but you don't go around killing others and taking their pokemon like you own their damn lives! As well as apologizing to your mother, apologize to the children and parents whom you have taken something dear away from them as well... May you find peace in the next world..."

*Kaito stood up and waited at the cave entrance for Minami to pick herself up and continue onward. Kaito's necklace would glimmer with a soft blue hue, a perfect color for the mood. Kaito continued to hide his face behind his hair and pretty soon his tears would begin to flow as well.*
