Beginning The Road To Change

-=While it was rather hard to reach the office of the mayor due to all the freaking rules of the city Alaude would finally make it to the office and would quickly walk in before he was snagged by yet another patrol officer. Alaude would head to the front desk and would ring the bell waiting for someone to tell him the process of obtaining a pokemon to begin his journey.=-

The clerk sitting at the desk was well known for being an info whore; playing both sides. Many people wondered how far her allegiance went with either the city or the mayor, but to Alaude, she was just another person trying to get by in this corrupt city. Once she saw Alaude, she quickly looked around to make sure no one else was around.

"Oh, Alaude-kun! I'm just about to get off my shift. Wait one moment, we'll go to the restaurant together."

She stood up, the name tag 'Alice' shining in a stray beam of light as she did.

After a few minutes of waiting under the scrutinizing glare of one of the security guards, Alice would return and quickly grab Alaude's wrist, dragging him out onto the streets!

"Alaude! Do you now how dangerous that is! Why would you come here of all places? What do you even want right now?"

She was angry not at him, but at what could have happened should one of the guards decide to start messing with him.

Outside, the streets were pretty barren. They were near the edge of town leading into one of the entrances to Asteroid Valley, and across the street, to the south was the restaurant Alice was talking about. On the same block, but not in site was the pokemon center, pokemon gym, and police station.

-=Alaude would simply wait for Alice to return having known her for sometime Alaude did not have any resentment toward her knowing that while it was hard Alice was trying to help those of Dusk City like Alaude himself. After being dragged out of the building into the forest like area Alaude would be able to get his wrist back to speak with Alice.=-

"Simple I was trying to pick up a pokemon to become a trainer."

Alice sighed and shook her head, holding the bridge of her nose in frustration. She wondered if all aspiring pokemon trainers were this reckless. But that just made her smile. Alaude was finally getting a pokemon, which would mean he was ready to fight back...or at least she hoped. Now that she thought about it, she wasn't sure if Alaude was even aware of the DFA, or the Dusk Freedom Alliance, that was being put together by some unknown person. Regardless, whether he chose to fight or leave was up to him.

"Come on Alaude-kun, you can get your pokemon at the pokemon center. I know Nurse Joy told everyone not to speak of it out loud but I thought your parents would have at least told you about it."

Yes, even Nurse Joy was under the mayor's hateful eye. People were not allowed to get pokemon and only those who came to the town as tourist were allowed to take on the gym leader even. Shinta, the Dusk City Gym Leader, was usually holed up in her gym anyway, doing god knows what. Many people thought very little of her since she had freedom and power. She could've done something to help Dusk City, or so many thought. Alice was one who held little respect for the woman.

"We're here."

Alice called and walked into the pokemon center. The gym was a few more buildings down while the police station was right next door. This was the busiest area of the city, but even still there were only about twenty people out at the moment.

Inside the pokecenter, Nurse Joy would be at behind the counter, looking worse for wear. Her eyes held bags and a broken pokeball sat on the counter. As soon as she saw the two coming in she quickly hid the pokeball, her eyes widening and showing that she had recently been crying.

"Oh..H-how may I help you?"

Her voice was hoarse.

-=Seeing the state Nurse Joy was in Alaude would bite the bottom of his lip which no one else would be able to notice. It seemed even the recklessness of the Mayor was affecting Nurse Joy as well. However even though this was bothersome Alaude would simply take a breath and approach Nurse Joy so no others could hear what he had to say.=-

"I am hear to obtain a pokeball."

Alice stood to the side, letting Alaude take care of business while looking out for any unwanted company. Nurse Joy nods at Alaude's words and goes into the back room. She came back a few moments later carrying a small tray of pokeballs. One of the pokeballs are missing however...

"Wait...where did..."

Nurse Joy looked up at the only other man sitting in the corner of the pokecenter. Suddenly, the man transformed, his body shrinking into that of a small Zorua. The dark pokemon seemed to giggle before bouncing over to Nurse Joy and Alaude and hopping on the counter. It stood in front of Alaude before transforming into his father. Nurse Joy was baffled.

"So you've been with him when you go wandering off huh. It looks like Zorua's taken a liking to you."

Nurse Joy forced a smile at the scene though it really did make her heart warm a bit. Pokemon and people belonged together. The Mayor would never have her forgiveness.

Alice: Hey, Nurse Joy! Where is Chansey?

At her words, Nurse Joy flinches. She quickly runs into the back room before a flood of tears could be seen by anyone else. The broken pokeball fell from her pocket as she did however. On its front, Chansey's name was etched.

-=Watching the Zorua from before appear Alaude would smile for a moment as he would pet the small Zorua on the head for a few moments before it jumped forward and landed on his shoulder.=-

"So I guess it was fate that the two of use met huh little guy."

-=However before Alaude could continue to talk with Zorua the two would be interrupter by the sudden crying of Nurse Joy. Alaude would quickly jump over the counter fast enough that no one would really notice and would head to the back to find a crying nurse joy and the shattered pokeball.-

"Nurse Joy tell use what happened to your pokemon."

Zorua had already changed back when Alaude jumped over the counter. In the back room would be like a small office/lab and a flight of stairs went deeper down into the basement of the pokecenter. Nurse Joy turned around startled, quickly wiping her tears. She wanted to scream at Alaude and tell him that he wasn't supposed to be back there. But she didn't, knowing she would need to get this off of her chest at some point.

"The Mayor...he sent some people here to take my Chansey..."

She tried her hardest to hold in her tears though they were almost overflowing.

"I...I refused and...they tried to forcefully take her from me...they broke...they broke her ball while she was still inside...they killed her!"

The next moment, Nurse Joy had thrown herself at Alaude, crying into his shoulder.

-=As Nurse Joy fell into Alaude's arms he would comfort her as best he could but Alaude honestly did not know what to say as he had never lost a pokemon before. After a moment Alaude would finally be able to gather a few words to tell Nurse Joy.=-

"Don't worry Nurse Joy I will make sure that things are set right in this town so you will never feel this way again."

"Run..."

Nurse Joy whispered to him.

"Don't stay here, not now. You're not strong enough. Just run while you can. Go far away, as far as possible. Get stronger, Alaude. Then come help us. Help me."

Nurse Joy touched Alaude's cheek. She smiled sadly, the first real smile she had given in a long time. She could see in his eyes that he would be the one to save Dusk City. Not today, put soon.

"Become a great leader and an even greater trainer!"

With that Nurse Joy turned away from him, giving him the que that she need a moment to freshen up again. Alice was still waiting up front.

Alice: Alaude, if you're leaving, the guards are on break going towards Crescent Town, Luna Mountain Town, and the Twilight Forest. You won't be able to get to Asteroid Valley until we do something about the Mayor. I say get out while you can.

-=Listening to both Alice and Nurse Joy while Alaude did not simply want to leave them he had to admit that the two of them where right. At his current state only have one pokemon and zero battle experience Alaude was not ready to make any changed in the City not yet at least.=-

"Don't worry I will e back soon. Lets go Zorua!"

-=Zorua would simply no before jumping back on Alaude's shoulder and the two would quickly run out of the pokemon center making sure to avoid every single guard the two of them would make it outside of the city limits and would take a moment to catch their breaths now that they where far enough that the city laws had no effect on them anymore.=-

"Well things begin from hear on out Zorua so lets do a best to become stronger together and also add a few more people to the team so we can change this horrible city for the better."

-=Zorua would bark at Alaude and he would smile before the two turned and began to head toward the Twilight Forest.=-
