Retrieving the Lost Package!

After receiving the request to find a health package lost somewhere in the mountain route, Rai and Luke would enter walking side by side. She would look about the area as she walked in hopes that she might soon spot it though it would seem Luke could not keep his eyes off his new trainer. He must have been very excited to begin a journey for himself as well. Noticing this, Rai would smile and turn to him.

"I know Luke, I feel great about our journey too."

With a yelp, Luke would most certainly agree.

"Alright, lets start off great and complete this simple task! You with me?"

With yet another yelp, Luke would jump onto Rai and climb up her back to her head and keep a keen eye on the environment, looking to see if he could spot the package.

The enthusiastic newcomers enters the cave of the mountain route. The cave would seem quite a chilling breeze at the entrance, but is quite warm once they've went inside. Once they've started their first step exploring inside the route, there would be a medium-sized yellow Pokemon blocking their path with his hand sticking out towards them. It is quite bulky with black marks on its body. Perhaps its trying to warn them not to enter or asking for a challenge?

As the two approached the yellow Pokemon blocking their path, Luke would jump to the ground and stand in front of Rai as he was unsure of the its intentions. They would be a few meters away as Rai pulled out her Pokedex to search the Pokemon. It would go on to tell her about it in detail.

"Oh, a Makuhita..."

She would say to herself while putting the Pokedex away. She didn't know what it had wanted, whether it be to block their path or fight them, she just wanted to pass through.

"Alright my Pokemon friend, we'll just be passing through. That's all."

Rai would say as her and Luke slowly moved forward, expecting the Makuhita to step aside, though were cautious of it in the process.

Makuhita took a leap back away from them as it begins to gather itself in though. A light glow slowly begins to illuminate on him as it strikes its sumo pose towards Rai and Luke, readying itself with its focus attack. Soon afterwards, the Makuhita dash towards Luke and attempt to strike him down with an arm thrust attack to the gut.

Rai would be confused for a moment as the Makuhita jumped back, though she would strike a stern pose herself at the sight of its own.

"Alright then, I guess you want to do this the hard way."

Luke, however, would immediately turn hostile. As the Makuhita dashed towards them Luke would dash towards it as well, performing Quick Attack in attempts to strike it in the chest first. This was a good time to survey the circumstances of the battle for Rai. To familiarize herself with Luke's abilities as well as the opponents'. All the while learning from the experience.

Luke's quick attack became a higher priority against Makuhita's Arm Thrust strike and lands successfully against its chest, causing it to groan from the sudden strike. The Makuhita took this as one of his harsh enduring training actions and used it towards it own favor to successfully strike him with the Arm Thrust attack in the gut right after Luke's quick attack. It was the first strike that became successful as it attempt to strike him down with a second blow of the same fighting type ability.

Having landed the direct hit to Makuhita, Luke would find a burst of confidence in himself. Yet even so the hit would prove to have done little in stopping its own attack as he would have received a blow to the gut. The feeling would be most affective in the area struck, causing Luke to stagger back and throw his arms up in an X formation. This would help as he would be hit for the second time which would force him backwards over towards Rai, his feet skipping across the ground while trying to regain his breathe and keep his balance.

"C'mon Luke, we can do this!"

Rai would say in hopes that this may empower Luke's will to fight.

"Alright, now use quick attack one more time!"

Luke would obey the command given and stretch his legs out before dashing directly towards Makuhita, though as he closed the distance he would begin to zig-zag and aim to strike him from the side this time. Afterwards he would jump back a few feet to put some distance between the two.

Makuhita began to head directly forward with another arm thrust towards Luke once more, but instantly got interrupted by its Quick Attack yet again on it sides. The yellow bulky Pokemon quickly dropped down on its belly from the blow, weakened from the strikes while attempting to rise back up to fight again. The choice for Rai would come to either keep fighting until it faints or capture it.

Rai was certainly interested in Makuhita, but it would be against her interest to start collecting any Pokemon that she came across. Makuhita just didn't fit Rai's needs at the moment, so if it was going to continue to fight then she would be glad to fight it until it gave in. Waiting for the Pokemon to rise to its feet so as to not strike it while down Rai would speak again to Luke.

"Alright Luke, he hasn't much fight left in him so lets try to end this with one last quick attack if we can."

And yet again, Luke would perform another quick attack on Makuhita, aiming for its gut this time.

Makuhita was able to get back on its own two feet until it was sent back crashing down on the ground hard by Luke's Quick Attack. The powerful blow to the gut made the yellow bulky fighter roll back a few times before stopping and going unconscious, resulting in a faint. Even though it was unconscious and beaten, Makuhitas are well known to take harsh endurance matches and learn lessons from their defeats. Victory goes to Rai and Luke!

Exp Gained: 70

Now that this obstacle was taken care of, Luke would return to Rai's side. A bit of exhaustion could be seen in him which would be understandable as it would take time for Luke to familiarize himself with battle. The two would walk over to the fainted Makuhita with respect for it as it had done its best.

"Alright Luke, lets get back to searching for that package."

She would see as the two wandered deeper into the caves.

The temperature inside the Mountain Route began to rise steadily as the two ventures further. It may have seem straightforward at first, but then it threw them off completely by giving them a few other paths to choose from. On the ground is a broken potion bottle with a faint scent that shows the trail of the lost package nearby. The path splits into three parts: Left, Middle, and Right. Which one is it?

Rai would notice the temperature raising after a while, but would not focus on it as the two came to the three paths to choose from. Noticing the broken potion also she would kneel down to examine it.

"We're getting close, Luke. But which way?"

As she pondered which path to choose, Luke would begin sniffing the air. After a few moments of this he would tug on Rai's pants in the direction of the middle path. Since she wasn't sure which one to take herself, she had complete trust in Luke and would follow down said path.

(That Riolu is too damn OP! xD)

Rai and Luke chose to travel into the middle path of the cave once the Riolu caught the scent of the fainted potion bottle. Their travels to find the lost package would quickly become a short once as they would notice a glistening item on the side of the cave walls. However, it would be surrounded by a couple of puffballs with wings scavenging the package for the sweet food inside. Unaware of the two noticing them, the bats just kept eating a bit of the sweetness.

As the two came across the Swoobats savaging the package, Rai would give a worried look. Luke would tense up and would seem as if he was about to attack the two, but Rai would grab his shoulder in order to stop him from doing anything rash. She had found that they had not noticed them and was willing to use it to their advantage considering that their were two of them and might not be willing to leave the package alone without a fight.

"Luke, use quick attack."

She would whisper to him. He would nod his head and begin to run towards the closets Woobat in attempts to strike it while also trying not to damage the package. After this it would jump back away from the two as Rai would hope that the sudden appearance of them would scare them off.

The preemptive strike against the weakest Woobat grants the blow to be a critical hit, easily knocking out the puff ball in one hit without any trouble at all. The second Woobat caught wind from seeing its buddy sent tumbling on the walls before fainting. It emits an ultrasound through its cry to scan around the entire cave for any hostile threat, picking up sound sensors of Rai and Luke as it flaps around in circles for a few times before shooting out a heart sound wave towards them as is Confusion attack. This psychic attack shall not only harm its target, but strike them down with the confusion status as well.

With the successful critical blow dealt and tacking out one of the Woobats, Rai would thrust her fist out in excitement. She was about to give another order to attack the second one, though the Confusion wave sent after them would strike. Both Luke and Rai would be damaged by it as well as suffer from its effect. Their vision would blur and their sense of balance would be shaky. In a fit to attack the Woobat, Luke would ready himself for another Quick Attack. He would be a bit shaky as it was initiated.

The confusion still remained in effect upon Rai and Luke, but only for an extremely short time as Riolu readies itself to strike down the Woobat with another Quick Attack. The batty puffball charge in with another Confusion heart wave at him, but was struck down first by its sharp blow to the face. The Woobat fluttered downward painfully as it tried to ascend itself back up in the air and swoop down towards Riolu and Rai with another Confusion strike. The confusion affect will aim for both of them to make them feel woozy and forgettable once more, but will be twice as damaging to Luke because psychic attacks greatly damage fighting types.

With Luke snapping out of his confusion and connecting the hit, he would jump back afterwards with clear signs of the first psychic attack showing its damaging affects. Though even so, the two couldn't give up now. As the Woobat fluttered back up it would be too late for Luke to commit another quick attack as he was tiring and it was already coming in for another attack.

"Luke, use Endure!"

She would yell to him. She couldn't risk another direct attack like that to Luke. However, as look began to glow with the power of Endure, Rai would have to deal with the full affects of Confusion and would fall to a knee in the same state as before. After Luke had been hit he would be weakened now severely and confused, though still able to battle own. Trying keep focus, Rai would speak yet again.

"We can do this, Luke! Use Quick Attack!"

Damaged and tiring, Luke would do his best to initiate another Quick Attack which would hopefully be his last.

The attempt of Riolu to use its Quick Attack backfire due to the Pokemon being confused. Instead, Luke would strike himself right on the face which should have fainted him afterwards. However, the power of Endure within Luke helped him withstand the attack once more until it couldn't take anymore at all. The signs of Luke being extremely weakened from the Confusion strike would signalize the Woobat to finish it off quickly. Flapping its wings drastically, the puffball bat unleashed a flurry Gust right at the Riolu to blow him away without any remorse for disrupting it from its sweet meal.

With the Woobat sending forth a gust of wind toward him, Luke would have no choice but to brave it, being blown back throughout the cave and towards Rai. She would leap from her knelt position to snag him from the air and land on her backside with him in her arms. It would appear that Luke was pretty banged up as he was at his limit in her arms though the battle wasn't over yet. Rai wasn't leaving without that package even if it meant that she had to step in the battle herself, but hopefully it wouldn't come to that. She would reach into her bag and pull out a potion in order to restore even a small portion of Luke's energy.

"Here, take this."

She would say, pouring the solution into his mouth with haste as the Woobat would most certainly want to attack them in this process. Once it had all been used Luke would look a bit replenished, though as it stood it could be seen that he was still weakened and confused. Hoping too attack as soon as possible Rai would command another Quick Attack which Luke would initiate.

The Woobat wings felt a bit tired from the gust attack it blew out and it needed to take a quick break. Before it could even attempt to have one and rise out for another Confusion attack, it would get knocked out by Luke's Quick Attack. Flutters downward and crashes on the ground letting out one more cry before it faints. A tough battle the two have done, but in the end, the victor is Rai and Luke.
