Continued from: http://pokemonnation.forumotion.com/t140-the-truth-lies-beyond-the-dusk#1393

As Snow entered the gym and noticed how dark it was, he shivered. He could feel the power of Shinta even from down on the first floor. And even more, he couldn't see jack shit beyond the Gym Guy that was standing nearby.

"This is the gym? Why is it freaking me out?"

The darkness lingers about thick and heavily around the entire area, engulfing just about any visible spot except for the entrance and the maze. The gym advisor continued to bob his head on the music until the iPod dies out from the strong power of the dark element. He would grumble from seeing that his music player stopped working all of a sudden.

"Grrrr...Damn imitation iPods and their unreliable junk. Another 50000pk wasted!"

The gym advisor notice Snow coming in and he would take off his headphones, yelling out to get his attention as he walks up to him.

"Yo, champ in the making!! Sorry if I didn't notice you there. The darkness in this gym is a real pain in the rear to get used to. Especially if you're trying to reach for the leader."

"Yeah, no shit."

Snow mumbled as he couldn't make out a damn thing inside the gym. With a sigh, he turned to the guy who he expected to see a lot more of.

"Anything I should know about this gym before I go in?"

"First off, the only person you'll have to face is the gym leader, Shinta. She is quite brutal with not only her dark type Pokemon, but the maze you'll have to go through. If you touch any of the walls while venturing to the end of the gym, then prepared to feel some powerful pain from the darkness."

The gym advisor took out a stick of gum and chews on it, giving himself something to work over his hunger craving for the time being.

"Also, if you have something that can pack a kick punch combo against Shinta, then you'll be just fine."

(We'll just pretend you gave me the items he's supposed to give already. XD I think I kept you waiting long enough.)

Snow would groan at the darkness. Maybe he should've waited for this. It hadn't even been a day since he had come out of the Mountains. But he was sure Rai was moving her own journey on full speed ahead. He didn't want to let her down next time they met, if they were still going to be friends at all.

"Alright, let's do this."

Snow would call before moving forward into the darkness.

Snow begins his path towards the first gym leader as he steps forward into the dark maze. The destination seemed pretty straightforward during the first few steps. However, he would have to take caution around the maze because the path back to the entrance way would be consumed into darkness. The gym advisor is nowhere to be found at all if Snow was to turn around and reconsider his steps. The first gym trial begins for Snow to see if he has what it takes to become a Pokemon Master.

(So what's the maze? XD)

Snow would cautiously step in the darkness with an ever falling sense of dread. Even with his newly awakened air adept powers, he knew there was nothing he could do within these walls. So he simply took a deep breath and awaited the first light to shed a little clarity on where he was allowed to move.

(Timeskip)

As Snow made it through the dark gym, he would feel himself teleported through darkness. He would appear on the see through platform that lay high above the gym below them, surrounded by utter darkness.

'This just gets creepier and creepier.'

(Copypasta due to unable to making an epic entrance like how you did with Kaito. xD)

As soon as Snow took a step up, he would feel himself transported over darkness, the force of it wrapping around his entire body. By the time he could open his eyes, he would be standing on a glass floor. Everything around him would be shining with an eerie black and purple light. In front of him would be a throne. Shinta sat in the throne and behind her burned a giant purple flamed torch as the lights that it cast were pitch black.

She stood up and torches around the room instantly lit up with purple flames. The floor beneath them, being glass, showed the gym that was below them and the path that Snow had took to reach Shinta.

"Welcome, Snow Rozalyn."

She spoke with a high mannered voice, yet extremely seductive. Her hips swayed as she took a step towards the battlefield.

"I am Shinta Valadores, one of the three 1st Star gym leaders. I am here to gauge your strength and conviction on your path to defeating all of the Pokemon gym."

She stopped at the battlefield, brushing a strand of hair from her face and causing the rim of the battle field to also burst into purple flames.

"You have no gym badges. Pity, I was looking forward to going all out against you. But since I am your first gym battle, let me show you why I have earned the right to be called a Gym Leader. Hmhmhm."

Shinta stomped one of her heeled feet, making the flames around the battle field fade away and showing a clear sign of where the boundaries of the field were.

"Come Snow-Kun. You're not afraid of the dark are you?"

Snow would bow to Shinta and look her dead in the eye. He was not afraid at all, and the tension he was feeling would reach its peak.

"I'm only using one pokemon Ms. Valadores. If I fail now, I will return, and I will still only use my best friend."

Snow spoke and indicated the pokemon he meant by holding out the pokeball. Drawing it back with a neutral glare, Snow tossed out Media, watching the Female Meditite float before settling onto the ground in a fighting stance. She put her hands together and bowed to Shinta.

"Ready when you are."

She spoke, her voice echoing from Snow's pokedex.

Shinta smiles seductively before shifting it into a smirk, seeing that her challenger is pumped up for the battle as well from how the darkness sense his tension..

"Oh? Only one Pokemon for the battle? Either you're very brave or very foolish to take the risk. I, however, applaud you for your decision."

Shinta's pokeball appeared in a swirl of darkness. She smiled seductively before tossing it into the air where it froze over before shattering, sending her Pokemon to the battlefield below.

"Let's see you embrace the darkness, Sodaiyuki!"

Lv. 25
Gender: Female

Sodaiyuki, the Sneasel, came out with a crystal sash over its body. It stood up and allowed the crystal sash to gently float away into the darkness.

"The challenger is allowed the first move."

Shinta said as she and Sodaiyuki both took an elegant posture.

"Media, take a load off and Calm your Mind."

Snow called and Media took a meditative position. It was a double called attack. Media used both Meditate and Calm Mind at the same time, boosting its Attack, Special Attack, and Special Defense 1 stage. While sitting in the meditative position, Media was completely aware of everything around it. It's body was bursting with a silvery aura as well, showing that it's Pure Power ability had activated, multiplying its base attack power by 4 times.

"Passive before aggressive, hmm? This should be an interesting feat to see from your pride and joy. Sodaiyuki, focus within yourself with Agility and surprise a Feint!"

Shinta called out and Sodaiyuki nod while saying its name. She applied the double attack as well just to playfully taunt his tactic to see how things will turn out on this challenge. Sodaiyuki begins to spin around several times with sudden intense speeds that gave the illusion of a blur. Increasing the speed by two stages. Along the way, the blur remained visible for a split second and Sodaiyuki instantly pops right in front of Media, interrupting any remaining moments that Media was trying to finish up and sucker punch in one clean punch.  This is known as the 'Faint Attack'. The hit was unexpected for it to dodge completely since it never misses.

Since Meditate and Calm Mind happened at the same time, it would be over before Sodaiyuki began it's Feint. Snow smiled at this and gave Media her first true order.

"Mind Reader."

He simply called, and Media would latch onto Sodaiyuki's thoughts, knowing exactly where it would be attacking from. As soon as Sodaiyuki would reappear, Media would know exactly where it and how it would be attacking.

"Force Palm!"

Snow called immediately as Sodaiyuki hit Media. At the same time, Media would attack back with a glowing palm, leaving the Sneasel with no time to dodge, especially since she could not miss either. Snow was pretty sure the Sneasel was going to take far more damage than Media.

The sudden twist in the battle did surprise not only Sodaiyuki off guard from the counter attack, but also Shinta as well for the turn of events. The pure strength coming from the 'Force Palm' that Media did fiercely knocked out Sodaiyuki not only in a faint, but all the way back to the sender. Shinta pulled out her Pokeball and return her defeated partner back inside. She smiles once more with a sinister, yet seductive look a Snow.

"Not bad at all, Snow. I haven't been surprised in a long while by that choice of action. Perhaps I could just give you the badge already, but I got to follow the rules and get this over with."

The surroundings around the become more devastating and tremor upon darkness. Out of the darkness rises her last Pokemon for many first time gym battles. Its cry echoed out around the entire stadium before revealing itself to Snow and Media.

"Submerge them in darkness, Hitodama."

Level Up!
Lv: 29 => Lv: 30
23965/25500 => 26465/26500

(Stats Updated)

Snow narrowed his eyes at the Spiritomb. This was going to be bad, but he couldn't afford to give up at all. This was going to be a tough battle, and he wasn't sure if he could win it.

"Media, stay on guard and use Mind Reader again."

As ordered, Media would latch onto the Spiritomb's thoughts and prepare for the next phase of battle.

Shinta kept her presence the same like always: Lustful, yet sincere. Her eyes kept focus on both Snow and Media as she smirks once more, enjoying the decoy and bait tactic that the team is doing. She speaks out low and charming to her Spiritomb.

"Hitodama, do be careful and Protect yourself from harms away and Hypnotize it with your charm."

Hitodama engulfs itself in a oval of darkness before consuming it back inside its spiritual aura with the 'Protect' ability, glaring at Media much longer as it eyes began to emit drowsy waves towards Media. The waves began to slowly transfer into it eyes as an attempt to 'Hypnotize' it to sleep.

The hypnotic eyes of Spiritomb would begin to lull Media into slumber, however, remembering her training, she would shake her head and growl in defiance. Seeing the barrier of darkness, Media would perform her own Feint attack, vanishing right through the barrier, however, her strike would pass right through Spiritomb. That didn't matter though since she had gotten right where Snow wanted her.

"Hidden Power!"

Snow would call and Media would curl up before unleashing a pulse of ghastly energy about her body, to strike the Spiritomb at point blank range again, the effects of mind reader still happening thanks to Feint having no effect on Spiritomb.

(Will do 45 damage and it's a Ghost type move for her. Did the calculations. Hidden Power has a base attack of 60 and uses Special Attack)

Shinta's face instantly went south once of the border once she saw her team get wrecked by Snow's Media. Her facial expression removed the lustful and mesmerizing appearance into a disgusted look of defeat and anger from how the same cycle it is with her and trainers that has batshit insane Pokemon. Externally, she quickly switched the appearance back to her calm and collective self. Internally, however, she was screaming like no tomorrow. She returns Hitodama back into her Poke Ball and walks over to Snow. She smiles and held out her hand a black badge shaped like a Skull and Crossbones.

"Congratulations, you have won the Nightmare Badge."

Exp Earned: 2250

Level Up!
Lv. 30 => Lv. 34
26465/26500 => 31465/34000

Snow let out a breath, wondering if his gambit had been good enough. Seeing the Spiritomb faint brought him relief and then moments later, boundless joy!

"Yeah! We did it Media!"

Media smiled brightly before levitating swiftly over to her trainer and tackling him to the ground, hugging his chest as best she could.

"How was I master? Did I do good?"

"You did perfect Media! You were flawless!"

Snow called back and hugged the pokemon with just as much enthusiasm.

(Copypasta strikes again! XD)

Shinta watched the scene before her with a content smile. She was happy to see that there were still trainers out there with the heart and soul of a faithful trainer, but the determination and gambit actions of an Ace Trainer like how Snow demonstrated. The happiness that she had seen in his eyes, the joy he felt in his achievement, it warmed her like only several others had ever been able to do before within the walls of Dusk City.

"Snow-Kun, I would like to give you this as a token for your victory as well. It is TM99: Dark Pulse"

Obtained TM99: Dark Pulse

"Now, come with me."

As if she had given him a choice, a cloud of darkness would surround Shinta, Snow, and Media. They would be moving through a pitch black area, the world around them flashing at them only several glimpse. Snow would be able to see that they were over Dusk City in a bubble of darkness.

"You must know Snow, that in other regions, not all the Gym Leaders have been loyal to their oaths as Gym Leaders. I know that does not go for the Leaders of Elestia, however, we are struggling at this time as well. With the Dark Descendants, the Sovereign of the Mayor in this city, and the Pokemon League's inaction, I fear Elestia is headed for darkness, and not one that is meant for balance."

She indicated her own darkness.

"Please do not turn a blind eye to what you see along your journey. That's all I ask of you."

The bubble of darkness popped, dropping Shinta on his feet right in front of the Dusk City Gym. Shinta kissed his cheek.

"I'll look forward to battling you at full strength Snow-Kun. Don't forget this victory. Farewell."

Snow would nod at the words Shinta spoke before, waving to the beautiful woman and making his way to the pokemon center. Only after he would be out of her sight would he allow the blush he had been trying to hide take over his form.

'Man I love that woman...'

He thought while touching the cheek she had kissed. Digressing, it was time for Snow to kick it up a notch. Time to go a pokemon catching!
